En las navidades de 2010, la banda británica 'Coldplay' sorprendió con el lanzamiento de su particular propuesta para la navidad. Se trata de la canción 'Christmas Lights' ('Luces de navidad').

Se trata de un villancico que tiene el sonido característico de la banda, alejado de las típicas melodías navideñas que cada diciembre se pueden escuchar en todas partes.

El videoclip que acompaña a la canción 'Christmas Lights' muestra a los miembros de la banda liderada por Chris Martin en un pequeño teatro, rodeados de la típica decoración navideña, pero con el toque original que da la banda a todos sus trabajos, para concluir con un final lleno de luz, color y sorpresas.

'Christmas lights' consiguió llegar las pasadas navidades al Top 10 de países como Finlandia, Italia, Países Bajos y Noruega, alcanzando también notoriedad el en resto de las listas de ventas internacionales. Es el caso de Estados Unidos (posición número 25) Reino Unido (puesto número 13) y España (alcanzando el número 14 en las listas de descargas digitales).
